BACKSTORY*

To better explain the situation of her childhood, I’d like to first state that she was by no means depressed at all. However, the events after he father’s death have permanently changed that aspect about Chrysta.

The closest example I can pull from an existing universe, is how Octavia Blake’s (THE 100) story began. For those who haven’t watched that tv series, Octavia was born under a strict populace limit ; meaning if the president would of known about her existence from the get go, her mother would of been floated into space and her brother would of most likely been locked up all his life since childhood. They made room within their tiny unit by making her live beneath the floor - which is less room than you could ever imagine. As she grew up, living a lie became more and more difficult when it came to hiding, especially during teen years. Since her brother held a position that was ranked within the forces, he was able to dress her up on occasion to take her out of their living cell to see people. of course, being locked up all your life makes it extremely difficult to be calm - let alone socialize with another living person. Everything in sight stimulates all of her senses at once, like a child on christmas day.

Now, I’m not saying Cinna locked her up like a prisoner, but how was there any other way of making sure she was 100% safe from the president? There really isn’t any other way. Cinna is too loving to allow her creativity to go to waste, so she adopts a system to tattoo her art in an anonymous way. So, let’s say she has this particular room that’s completely off the grid when it comes to blueprints of the capitol. There’s not too much light inside - other than her electronic lantern to let her keep creating designs. Plutarch could of been an accomplice in helping Cinna create an underground portion of his home that wouldn’t exist in their database; Evermore so, highly difficult to find in case any peacekeepers decided to do a routine search for suspicious leads. Obviously she’s vulnerable if she forgets to change her appearance before going in public (ie: a decorative mask, any body modification that is temporary) or if a rebellion begins and her father dies.

So, if anyone claims to know her name based off of her artwork - chances are she’ll try and treat you like you’re crazy just to save her own ass; OR she’ll try to send you to Cinna’s assistants if it’s business related. Keep in mind, being locked inside all her life makes her a bit bizarre and candor ; Chrysta legitimately has no friends other than the man who raised her.

styliist-blog whispered:
consider this: cinna would leaving her a sketchbook. she'd find it not long after he dies, tucked away in his belongings. it's filled will all kinds of drawings, but the running theme is that it's sketches of her, mostly growing up, some of them have him in them, some of them are toys she had, or illustrations of stories he'd read to her and on the last page it's basically a goodbye note, where he tells her he's sorry he's got to leave, but it's the right thing and that he knows she'll

(cont.) understand. and he just writes that he loves her, and that she’s the best thing he’s ever made. and that’s the end of the book.

im not crying or anything… but oh my god yes. 10/10 she was always kind of jealous of the notes he would leave katniss and then she just finds this to shatter everything she had ever thought negatively about her life. But who would give it to her - or would she just randomly find it back in their old house in the capitol? :x

Chrysta wasn’t hidden out of hate      There would of been a logical explanation as to why Cinna would want to cover up traces of his own blood. His daughter isn’t weak, nor would he ever pin that type of characteristic on any female, he probably just wanted her to be a bit more safe than most. Everyone has horrible secrets, even some that Finnick doesn’t even know about, or maybe he did know of her existence. Everyone has each others back some way or another. && believe me, every time that busy ass man would come home from a long day of creating masterwork, this young girl would hug him like every day is the last.
